Merry Christmas!

Christmas time is almost here! Things in the Peterson home have been busy. Emily has been busy making, sewing and preparing many gifts for this season. Gavin has been busy trying to unwrap anything that might possibly be a gift for him. I have been busy with work and church responsibilities and little Noah has just been observing and taking it all in. The house is all decorated inside and out. The inside looks like a Christmas wonderland thanks to Emily and the outside lights look great as well. (I have turned into my dad, I am a Christmas light fanatic!) I will never forget when my dad brought me Christmas lights to my apartment in Provo to make sure that I had lights decorating the outside of the apartment. There are a couple of houses in our neighborhood that have a lot of lights so I had to at least try to compete.

At this time of year there are so many things to be thankful for. Most especially, the birth of The Savior, his life and atonement. Also the blessing of family. We are real lucky to have both sides of our family close by and enjoy the opportunities to get together with them often. Things are going well and we are all anticipating Santa's arrival on December 25!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know that it still has taken me a while to update this blog, but I will get better. I have been thinking a lot about the many things that I am thankful for. I really enjoy this time of year with the leaves changing and the opportunity to focus on what is important in life. First of all I am thankful for a wonderful wife who is the best thing that ever happened to me! We will be married four years in December and it has been an incredible journey! I am also thankful for my two sons. Gavin is 2 now and is like a sponge, observing and taking in everything that he can each day. He reminds me all of the time of the excitement of life and learning. I am also very thankful to have another son this year! Noah is almost 4 months old and is growing a lot. It is great to have a baby in our house again and it is especially fun to watch the two of them interact!
I am also thankful for all of our family and friends. It is great to live near our families so that we see them often. Our friends have been an important thing in our lives and two weeks ago we went and visited a few of them. We had the opportunity to visit Emily's brother Andrew and her sister Amanda in Rexburg. We stayed with Reece and Emiliy who are some friends of ours in Idaho Falls. My wife Emily grew up with Emily and have been friends for their entire lives. We then traveled down to Salt Lake visited my Great Aunt Addie, she just turned 89. We alsways enjoy seeing her. We stayed with T roy and Jen. T roy was a roommate of mine at Ricks. They have a son Cache who is just a little bit older than Gavin and one on the way. After that we went to Logan and stayed with Josh and Shanna and there two girls. I have known Josh my whole life and we were roommates at Ricks as well. We attended the Boise State vs. Utah State game. It was great! We had both Gavin and Noah with us and they we were all dressed head to toe in Bronco Gear! It was a great trip and we had a great time seeing all of those friends that we did.
I am also thankful for our health and for the job that I am able to work at. I am learning things each day and really enjoying it.
We hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Sorry, it has been a while

I have to apologize, my laptop died for a while but has now come back to life! I had to have a new hard drive installed. That is my excuse, besides being lazy for why I have not updated our blog or added any new happenings with our family.
Since our last post our family has been doing great! Gavin turned two on September 15 and we had a huge party for him as well as his Uncle Doug and Cousin Wesley. It was a Mickey Mouse themed party. It went really well, we probably had about 20 kids at the party. After it was over Emily and I were ready to check ourselves in somewhere.
Gavin attended his first BSU Bronco game with Grandpa Peterson and myself. We had a lot of fun and Gavin was really excited to see the Bronco mascot as well as the Horse that runs around the stadium.
Noah is doing great! He is sleeping through the night which is great for mom and dad! He is almost three months old now and is really growing a lot. We are really blessed to have him in our home. Gavin is a great help with Noah and always wants to be included with everything we do with Noah.
We had pictures of the boys taken a week ago and that was a challenge. We ended up going to Kiddie Kandids twice because the first time Gavin did not want to do anything. The pictures ended up great!
Emily is busy with many sewing, art and quilting projects. She is busy finishing things for fall and Halloween as well as getting Christmas projects started already. Hard to believe that the Holidays are not to far off.
That is the update. I hope that all of you are doing well and I promise to update this more often.

Noah's Pictures

Here are pictures of the new arrival, Noah Mayes Peterson.

Noah

Noah Mayes Peterson has arrived!!

Well, I am trying to get up to date with some of my friends and my brother so I have given in and created a blog for our family. I figure this will be the easiest way to keep family and friends up to date with the happenings of our family.
The latest news with us it that our second son Noah Mayes Peterson was born July 24, 2007 at 3:25 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. He has a full head of dark hair. Both Emily and Noah are doing well. Gavin is excited to have a little brother and I am happy to have "my two boys!" I will add some pictures to this in the next few days.
