Naughty or Nice?

So we attended our ward christmas party on Saturday night. It was fun and we enjoyed the dinner like anybody else with two very energetic boys. At least at this ward dinner the people who were sitting by us didn't get up and move across the gym to a new table after our kids spilt their water for the third time. (Yes this really happened to us at Halloween!)
The primary kids sang a couple of christmas songs and there is nothing like your child singing about Jesus to get your already full tearducts rolling. Gavin did not really want to participate but his brother who is not in primary yet, did! So here they are not singing!!!

Of course what kind of Christmas party would it be without Santa. Since Thanksgiving we have been asking the boys what they want for Christmas especially what they wanted Santa to bring them. Gavin has made up his mind and thinks that what he wants is already under the tree. He told my mom that it had to be there because the shape of the box was square just like the shape of what he wants. So this is Gavin telling Santa that all he wants is a 4 year olds favorite Wii with Mario and Sonic.
Noah has had his mind set on a green dinosaur that walks and roars and maybe a Buzz Lightyear. He will tell anybody this. So we really tried to talk up Santa to him so that he would not be scared and would sit on his lap. We thought we had the green light until it was his turn to sit on the lap. This picture does not even do justice to his first reaction to the Big Man. You can see his legs wrapped around Cort in the picture. When Cort first went to set him on Santas lap he thrust backwards and with flaming red cheeks( you can see them in the pic) he screamed at the top of his lungs NOOOOO SANTA!!!!!!!! It was the most hilarious thing I have seen in a long time. Everyone in the room was laughing except Noah. Then being the torturous parents we are we made him get a picture with Santa anyway.

The funniest part of the whole thing was that the Santa was Cort's dad. Yes, Noah's best friend in the whole world. If only he knew that! I was kind of worried to let my kids see Grandpa/Santa, because I didn't want them to know it was him and then have to explain. Well Noah obviously did not catch on, and after we left the room he kept saying over and over "I not see Santa anymore!" The kicker was as we were leaving, the bishop who knew it was Granda/Santa asked Gavin if he saw Santa and did he tell him what he wanted? Gavin said " Yea, that Santa was brown just like my Papa Pete!!" Cort and I just looked at each other and had to smile. He still really didn't get it so we are safe with the secret!
What a night and what a great Christmas Season. Who ever thought having kids would make you crazy one minute and ready to pee your pants the next!

Turkey Cookies!

Gavin and I were looking for fun turkey day cookies and we found this idea on recipezaar. We bought everything to make them for Thanksgiving but didn't get them done. Instead we made them for the BSU game on friday and took them to share with our family.

These are the most willing and happy helpers

What is more fun than cookies and candy! Oh yeah and licking the knife every time you frost a cookie. So for all those we shared with you are enjoying alittle more than you thought.

This is Noah's finished product! I hope you can see the turkey in them! He thoroughly enjoyed the candy

These are Gavin's cookies. He didn't want to put any of the hot m&m's on his. He did a really good job! But I think he enjoyed the frosting a lot!

These are what they were supposed to look like. We had so much fun! They can't wait until it is time to make the nexy batch! It was such a fun weekend with all of our family. We hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving as well!

Is it almost Halloween or Thanksgiving?

I know Halloween has long come and gone and everyone has already posted pictures of their cute kids. Well since we have had some serious computer issues that thankfully have been worked out (thanks family) I thought since it is not quite Thanksgiving I would try to update us a bit.
We had one of the most relaxing and fun Halloweens I think we have had since we had kids. Usually we are trying to visit both grandparents, trunk or treat, and trick or treat in our neighborhoods in a matter of a few hours. This year we went to Grandpa and Grandma Petersons trunk or treat on wednesday. We visited my parents early on saturday. Then we made it to our trunk or treat and decorated our door. Last but not least we came home and Cort was able to take the kids around the neighborhood with their cousins. We invited his family over to have spudnuts and hang out. It was a lot of fun and we will definitly do the spudnuts again! YUM!!!
I think one of the nicest things about the night was that BOTH of my children enjoyed wearing their costumes. I hate when you buy these adorable costumes and they are horrible about wearing them. I am a bit biased but I think I had some of the cutest kids out there. I love the dragon costume and my dragon this year was so stinkn cute!! Gavin has officially hit big boy status. This year I was not allowed to have an opinion about what he was going to be. It was lucky that his cousin Zach had a Buzz Lightyear costume from years past. Thanks Megan!!

We didn't even plan this, but the boys' best friends from our ward both came as the same thing as them. Those are the two fiercest dragons I have ever met!
At Grandpa and Grandmas with uncle Doug and Aunt Halli. Starting off the night!

My cute little boys at our house on the hay. Best Friends!!!

Am I ready for 3?

Well I guess we can't keep it to ourselves forever, even though most of our friends and family know. But yes if any of you have heard we are expecting our third baby in January! The due date is the 12th, but if I have any say in it we will be having it as early as possible. We would love to have a New Years baby, maybe if we were lucky we could be the first and get free diapers or some other cool gift! Yeah Right!! It would take a miracle for me to go that early on my own.
This afternoon Cort and I went in for my monthly appt. and ultrasound. After three hours we came out with the best news EVER. After almost four years we are finally having a little GIRL!!!!!!! I don't even think it has sunk in yet. I love my boys and would have enjoyed another one, but there is something about a mothers need for a little girl. I think everyone had their fingers crossed for us. So for all of you who were finger crossing with us Thank You! I had myself convinced it was a boy so when she said girl I teared up a little bit. (That is usually Cort's job) I even think our doctor's response was almost bigger than ours. She and I have had our kids at about the same time and she got her girl the second time and knew how much I wanted one. We do go in again in four weeks for another ultrasound, because the little stinker
was all balled up and the tech couldn't see some things clearly. Hopefully we can have an even bigger confirmation that she is a girl. I still have this fear that I will be all hyped up about a girl and have everything ready for her and she comes out a boy. I guess it is because when it is a boy they are almost always correct. But when it is a girl there is room for surprises!
Well whatever the end result is I will still be happy to have a little blessing from heaven. For right now I am ecstatic that it is a GIRL!!!! I just can't stop smiling, saying it and thinking about it. Bows, tights, dresses, cute shoes, and anything else girlie here I come!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Honey!!

I know it is shocking that I would have three posts in three days. I couldn't forget one of the most important days of the year in our family though. It is Corts B-day today and I wanted to tell him Happy Birthday!!! He is the big 33. Gavin has been telling us lately that there is a boy who is having a birthday and he is turning 3. I keep telling him that he will be 4 not 3. Then he comes back and says "it's not me mom it's dad." We went to Costco for pizza (Cort's choice). You can tell we are into fine dining. We didn't take any pictures today, but this is from his dad's wedding a couple of weeks ago. I have the cutest boys. They all look so cute in there matching outfits. We are having his brothers and there family over for homemade doughnuts. Yummmy!! I hope he has had a great day and that this year is wonderful! He is the best husband EVER!!!!! I LOVE you honey!

Three is a Crowd!!

Cort came in our room in the morning and found this. It is shocking that either one of us gets any sleep. Noah was taken back into his bed a couple of times, but ended up here. I don't know if anyone else has a child like this, but this is how he prefers to sleep. At least he is not on my feet like usual. He has this strong attachment to me. I think it stems from infancy when he would nap on me all the time. I probably started something that is going to be hard to stop. But as a mommy it was nice to finally have a baby who wanted me to hold them. Poor Gavy was the last one in the bed so he didn't even make it all the way on. I have always had him trained so well to sleep in his own bed. I started letting him sleep with me when we moved into our house, because Cort would be gone with scouts every once and a while. Now he comes in at about 6:30am four mornings out of the week. The funny thing is I am usually so tired I don't even know this is going on. Cort opted to sleep on the couch!!

Noah Turned 2!!

Yes I am not as good as most moms who have a post the day of their childs b-day, but at least I have one. My baby turned 2 about three weeks ago. I can't believe he is this big. I had a newborn the last time I had a two year old. We had a fun time at the park and pool with all of our family. Noah wanted an Elmo birthday cake so that is what I set out to accomplish. I wasn't sure about it at first but as soon as he saw it he said "Elmo, mommy" so I knew if a two year old could tell anyone should be able to. Besides only the birthday boy needs to like it! Thanks to all of our family they always make these occasions special!!

Sunday Evenings

So I am sitting on the couch with Noah. Cort is at a scout Court of honor and has Gavin with him. This is one of the most relaxing evenings I have had in a long time. Noah is drinking my orange juice and completely enamored with an Elmo's World video. We finally gave in and got the internet on Friday. Cort thinks I should now be able to update the blog weekly. GOODLUCK!
I am barely awake as is! This past few months has been so crazy that I barely get done what I have to. It is too bad that I don't see it leting up in the near future. I will just continue to enjoy my Sunday evenings.

A Belated Tribute to Disneyland

I thought since it has been almost two months I should finally get our Disneyland pictures up.

This is a picture of the whole gang except Cort's dad.  This is the first day when we are all happy.
This is the second day at Playhouse Disney. You can tell Noah just lovvvedit! I did though!!
Our family picture at a christmas tree in Downtown Disney. The funny thing was that while taking this picture Cort's brother Chris stepped on and fell over his son Gabe. I think we all about peed our pants after we made sure Gabe was alright.
The boys enjoying breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel.
Gavin and Noah playing and dancing with Goofy at breakfast. They loved it!  Gavin wanted to keep talking to Goofy.
Gav just found out who Chip and Dale are. Except he calls them Chick and Dave. He was so excited when any character came out. The breakfast was one of the best things we did.
Here are my kids being themselves. Gavin kept doing this thing with his mouth every time we took a picture. I wanted to beat him by the end of the week.
Noah just loved Santa so that is why I had to be in the picture with him.
When Santa asked Gavin what he wanted for christmas, he told him a teeny tiny reindeer to put in his room. He have no idea where that came from. He did not get one for Christmas!
This is Gav and I at the Reindeer Round-up coloring. Gav is sporting his new ears. He got to pick out the hat and ears to go with it. He even chose the Lightning McQueen patch on the front.
This was one of the highlights of Gavin's week. What 3 year old boy wouldn't want his picture with Buzz Lightyear.

This was our final night. We were waiting for the Fantasmic show to begin. By this time everyone was beat.
I think Gavin found his girlfriend. We waited forever to meet the Tinkerbell in Pixie Hollow. I think we were the only ones with 2 BOYS in line. I know we got a few strange looks. Noah just wasn't sure what to think.
This just explains what it was like with two children all week. Thank goodness for strollers!!!
It was such a fun week we had a lot of good times. Thanks to the Petersons for a good vacation!!

I love these pictures of my kids. Thank You Elaine for the freezing photo shoot!
